How to pick an extraction kit
- Shipping — CYDN, CYDR and CYRN kits ship ambient (no ice packs). Storage after arrival still follows the spec table: Proteinase K in CYDN07 at −20°C; Buffer RL in CYRN03 at 4°C; CYRN53 at 15–25°C and must not be refrigerated.
- DNA vs RNA, animal vs plant — CYDN07 for cell/tissue genomic DNA; CYDN14 for plant DNA. CYRN28 for cell/tissue RNA; CYRN53 for phenolic plant RNA; CYRN03 when you want TRIzol lysis plus a column.
- gDNA carry-over — CYRN28 and CYRN53 include a genomic-DNA elimination column, so a separate DNase step is usually unnecessary.
