How to read these numbers
- RIN runs from 1 (degraded) to 10 (intact). Values of 8 or above are generally considered good for RT-qPCR and RNA-seq.
- 28S/18S near 2 is the textbook value; tissue RNA commonly reads lower while RIN remains high, so read the two together.
- A260/A280 alone does not show integrity – see why an A260/A280 of 1.8 is not a purity pass and RNA quality reference values.

Can CHANGYU TRIpure replace TRIzol in my protocol?
It is used with the same TRIzol-style workflow – lysis, chloroform phase separation and isopropanol precipitation – so you do not need to change your protocol. In the manufacturer side-by-side test, RNA integrity was comparable (RIN 8.7 vs 8.6). We recommend a small parallel run on your own sample type before switching.
Was the yield the same?
The two samples in the test were diluted differently (1:9 and 1:10) and the tissue input was not reported, so the concentrations (243 and 299 ng/µL) do not show a yield comparison. RNA integrity (RIN, 28S/18S) is the comparable result.
