Limits and handling
- For laboratory research use only. Not for diagnostic or therapeutic use.
- Shipped with ice packs. Store at the temperature in the specifications table on arrival.
- Store at −20°C (manual: 2 years). Avoid repeated freeze–thaw.
- Very fast cycling: about 5 s/kb is for simple or plasmid templates; use longer extension and more cycles on complex templates.
- Products are polyA-tailed (suitable for TA cloning). For high-GC templates, denaturation may be raised to 98°C as in the manual.

FastLong FAQ
What is the longest amplicon FastLong supports?
About 10 kb per the manual. The manual shows gel evidence for 2.6 kb (Hα1AT) and 6 kb (β-globin) fragments from 50 ng human genomic DNA. For longer targets, validate on your template or split the amplicon into overlapping fragments.
Can I clone FastLong PCR products directly?
Yes. Products carry polyA ends and clone directly into pTOPO TA vectors without A-tailing. After purification, products can also be used for digestion, ligation, or fluorescence sequencing.
How do I amplify high-GC or complex templates?
For short fragments, denaturation may be raised to 98°C. For long fragments, keep the temperature and instead extend pre-denaturation (e.g., 5 min) and denaturation time. Add DMSO 1–8% or betaine 1.0–1.7 M, and use touchdown PCR.
